Forum Authorization Permission Issue – Resolved & Fix Available

I want to address a permissions-related bug reported by Megaboost regarding forum access controls.

Issue Summary

When forum permissions were configured to restrict access exclusively to registered users, unregistered guests were still able to view and access forum content. This was inconsistent with the intended permission settings.

Resolution

I have identified the root cause and implemented a complete fix. The download package has been updated to include the corrected files, which are attached to this post.

Installation Instructions

To apply the fix:

Download the attached archive file.
Upload all contents to your website root directory, preserving the folder and file structure exactly as shown in the archive.
Overwrite the existing files when prompted.

This update will ensure permission restrictions are correctly enforced—only users matching your configured access levels will be able to access the forums going forward.
If you encounter any issues after installation, please reply to this thread and I will assist promptly.

This is just a little visual update. The new downloads module has externals links already. It will be in 2.0.11

I have made a few changes to the File Repository module.

1. I have updated some of the logic for checking download permissions and made the code a lot cleaner

2. I have now separated the description and the fixes tabs, they are now stacked under each other, to make it easier for people to spot, I know a lot of people had problems seeing the fixes tab. - Dashboard changes

3. Due to the number 2 changes, it did increase the amount of scrolling the user had to do, to read all this info. So i added a little extra CSS and JS to fix that problem, I used a CSS line clamp set to 8 lines. So basically, only 8 lines of description or fixes are shown, a button will now appear, which allows you to show more/less of the text.

4. Fixed the image carousel, it is now fully working again, also fixed the layout problem with the carousel buttons.

Let me know what you think of these changes. If you all like them, I will update the package with the changes.

Yes. The donation block clears every first day of the month. I have plans to show the public the donations, Just with everything I have going IRL right now, just have not had time to finish it.

you must have chosen the anonymous donation, or is would have displayed your name.

Make sure this option is set to no.

Just simple upload the file in the "includes" folder to your "public_html" directory.

This permission bug is actually still happening on my local, and now thanks to ##megaboost## I have fixed the issue. I will be posting the fixed files in to this forum thread tomorrow.

I will need a little more time to post this fix, fixing this problem, caused another bug, I am working on a fix now.

The new update I am working on 2.0.11. But there is nothing stopping anyone from using this fix, until the update it ready.

I believe I have fixed all the problems with this module running on Evolution Xtreme 2.0.10. I have made this new thread, so the attachment is in the first post. I am in the process of finishing the new downloads module, Once that is done, I will get it uploaded to the site, and then go through all the downloads currently listed and get them all updated to the latest version of the CMS.

I am not sure how long this is going to take so please bare with me.

	I believe I have fixed all the problems with this module running on Evolution Xtreme 2.0.10. I have made this new thread, so the attachment is in the first post.
